SHREVEPORT, La.- Caddo Parish sheriff's deputies have arrested a Shreveport man for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl.

Sheriff Steve Prator said Monday that 30-year-old Dameon Taylor was arrested Friday on one count of aggravated rape. He was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center. Bond was set at $1 million.

Prator, in a news release, said the victim recently disclosed that she was sexually assaulted on several occasions last fall.

Authorities say this is the second time Taylor has been arrested for a sex crime involving a juvenile. He was convicted in 2000 of sexual battery.
