Shot, burned body found in New Orleans
NEW ORLEANS - Construction workers in eastern New Orleans have found the body of a woman who had been shot and burned.
The body was found in shrubbery alongside Michoud Boulevard about 4 p.m. Monday. Police said that workers who came across the body were excavating the land nearby.
The officers who arrived on scene noticed that the woman had been partially burned, in addition to sustaining multiple gunshot wounds. Additionally, investigators said that the body had been in the shrubbery for at least a day.
While police are calling the incident a homicide, investigators have not released suspects or a motive.
