BATON ROUGE- For some, holiday shopping means avoiding malls. All-together.
They're on the hunt for that unique gift not found in the big stores.
The rocket, a device that can turns any object into a speaker, is just one of the gadgets shoppers gathered around to see at Pearson's Luggage and Gifts.
Jane Cade tells News2 when it comes to Christmas Shopping you won't find her at the mall. She says, "I like going to smaller stores like this one because they have unique gifts and there's not so much of a crowd."
There wasn't "much of crowd" at Le Roche Bleu Day Spa either. But, they say their products are flying off the shelves. Like this Clarisonic home facial machine.
Sonya Davis explains "It proves that it cleans the skin 6 times better than manual cleaning. As well as removing make up dirt and oil. It helps to refine the pores."
And some who want the glamorous look for less are turning to people like Kendra James. She figured out how to make earrings similar to what you've seen the celebs wear on the red carpet.
She says, "I took it upon myself to get the materials at a fraction of the price of course. And it turned out to be a real good item."
James is only selling the earrings online and sometimes at the flea market on Florida Boulevard, but customers still seem to find her.
James says, "You don't want something that's in the mall that everyone has. If you have your own individual gift it just makes it a little more special."
The last full holiday shopping weekend starts tomorrow.
