ZACHARY - Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man on drug charges after they searched his residence in connection with the investigation of a fatal shooting in Zachary Wednesday.

21-year-old Reggie Jackson was booked into the parish prison on charges of distributing and manufacture of marijuana and crack cocaine.

Deputies arrived at Jackson’s residence in the 400 block of East Flonacher Street in Zachary after a shooting victim was located walking down the street with a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

EBRSO deputies executed a search warrant at Jackson’s home and located a large quantity of suspected marijuana and crack cocaine. Jackson said he did not know the drugs, which were individually packaged for sales, were in his home. He was booked into EBR Parish Prison on charges unrelated to the shooting investigation.
