Two injured in St. Gabriel shooting
IBERVILLE PARISH - St. Gabriel Police say two people are recovering in a hospital Monday night after the city's first shooting in at least six years.
Chief Kevin Ambeau says it happened at an apartment complex in the 3600 block of Bank Drive just before 10 p.m.
Ambeau says two people from New Orleans have been arrested for the shooting. Detectives say the suspects knocked on a door then hid in some bushes. When a man walked out of the apartment, police say the suspects started shooting, hitting one man in the neck and another in the leg.
Ambeau says when the suspects tried to get away, their car wouldn't start, and since they're not from the area, they didn't know where to run to.
Police have not released a motive in the shooting at this time.
