RAMAH - A shooting death investigation closed a lane on the I-10 Basin Bridge and caused a 10-mile long traffic jam Wednesday. 

One lane on the westbound side just west of Ramah in Iberville Parish closed before lunch. Emergency vehicles could be seen in the state traffic camera looking at the scene.  The single lane closed re-opened about 45 minutes after it was first closed.

Traffic was backing up for almost ten miles as of 12:15. 

The Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office handled the investigation.  Sources identified the person as a man that had been driving erratically down the Interstate, waving a gun before he shot himself in the head.
