Sheriff Wiley awards scholarship to college-bound teens
GONZALES - Sheriff Jeff Wiley announced that two high school seniors in Ascension Parish will receive academic scholarships for the Louisiana Sheriff's Scholarship Program for the coming school year.
Wiley said London Marchand of St. Amant High School and Michael Favorite of Donaldsonville High School were awarded $500 LSA scholarships to continue their current trend of academic excellence and leadership.
"Academic awards by the Louisiana Sheriffs' Scholarship Program to Louisiana students demonstrate what the LSHMP is all about," said Sheriff Wiley. "This is one of our finest accomplishments that invests in Louisiana's future and gives something back to our community. This would not be possible without the kind and generous support of Ascension Parish's Honorary Members."
Scholarships will be awarded in 63 parishes throughout the state.
