BATON ROUGE - Sheriff Sid Gautreaux has planned an evening news conference to release information related to a case that has outraged the community: the drive-by murder of a seven-year-old boy.

Department spokeswoman, Casey Hicks, said the department has been working since the shooting Saturday night and will update the community on what deputies have been doing. Terrez Coleman was shot riding his family's car on Prescott Road. It is believed gunfire came from a passing vehicle. His sister was grazed by a bullet but survived.

Earlier Wednesday, a group of pastors called for an end to the violence. They called the issue an epidemic.

Watch team coverage of the sheriff's news conference and the pastors' message beginning on WBRZ News 2 at 4:00. WBRZ News 2 will carry the news conference live on WBRZ News 2 at 5 and it will be streamed with the newscast on WBRZ.com.
