BATON ROUGE - Sheriff's deputies released a photo of a man they said tried to rob someone at an East Baton Rouge apartment complex early Tuesday morning.

Deputies said the victim was walking from their vehicle at the Nesser Gardens Apartments at 10446 Jefferson Highway around 1 a.m. when he was approached by another man. Deputies said that person pointed something at the victim, possibly a gun, and told him to "give it up."

Investigators said the victim fled, and surveillance photos got a picture of man believed to be the robber. Detectives said he was a black male between 17 and 22 years of age, 5' 7" and weighing 130 to 150 pounds, with dreadlocks, a black shirt, khaki shorts, and dark shorts.

Anyone with information about this attempted robbery should call the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office at (225) 389-5000.
