Sheriff: Rogers died from shot to the head
ST. GABRIEL - An autopsy report showed TV personality Scott Rogers died from a single gunshot to the head, according to the Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff Brett Stassi told News 2 those were the preliminary findings from the autopsy, which was conducted in New Orleans. There was no word on when the full results would be released.
Rogers died Wednesday after investigators said his son-in-law, Mathew Hodgkinson, shot him and then shot himself at Rogers' home in St. Gabriel. Hodgkinson survived, and is on life support at a local hospital according to deputies.
Rogers hosted the locally-broadcast "Around Town Show", which was canceled Monday. Rogers' attorney said his client's two adopted children had also recently been taken out of the home by state authorities, and that Rogers was facing a grand jury inquiry.
The attorney said Hodgkinson and Rogers' biological daughter both testified before the grand jury Wednesday before the shooting.
Chris Nakamoto will have more on the investigation into Rogers' murder tonight starting at 4 p.m.
