Sheriff: Inmate left work detail, recaptured
ST. MARTINVILLE - Sheriff's deputies said an inmate who walked off a work detail in St. Martinville Tuesday morning was arrested a short time later, and now faces more charges.
The St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office said Delanius Narcisse, 23, left the work detail on Washington Street around 11 a.m. Deputies caught him a short time later at a house on Governor Mouton.
The sheriff's office said Narcisse was in jail for violating probation from a 2010 burglary conviction, and new charges will be added after Tuesday's incident.
