Shelly Dick assumes federal judgeship in B.R.
BATON ROUGE - Shelly Dick has been sworn is as U.S. District Judge for the Middle District of Louisiana.
She was first nominated on April 25, 2012, re-nominated on January 3, 2013 and confirmed by the U.S. Senate on May 9.
Dick is a 1988 graduate of the LSU Law School and was a founding partner of the Forrester & Dick law firm in Baton Rouge where she has practiced since 1994.
The seat in the Middle District of Louisiana has been vacant since the death of Chief U.S. District Judge Ralph Tyson.
