BATON ROUGE - Thirteen sheep are grazing at an East Baton Rouge Animal Control paddock, after they were spotted nibbling grass alongside a parking lot in Baton Rouge.

The sheep were noticed by passers-by along Nicholson Drive near the Brightside extension this afternoon.  Several animal control agents were sent out to round up the loose animals.

Animal Control Director Hilton Cole said the sheep were in good health, and had ID tags on their ears.  They'll be scanned for microchips as well in the morning, all in an effort to find out who they belong to.

Anyone with information about where the sheep came from can contact EBR Animal Control at (225) 774-7700.
