BATON ROUGE- Police are still looking for answers after investigators found Brandon Harris, 29, shot to death near Tigerland this weekend.

The shooting happened on the 1430 block of Sharlo Avenue just after 2 a.m. Sunday morning.

"We heard three distinct slow shots, and they even said, I'm pretty sure that was a shotgun, and we started freaking out, we turned out all the lights and closed the curtains," said Jamie Schutte, who lives nearby.

The shooting was the first time homicide investigators were called to the area in nearly a decade, when Derrick Todd Lee was accused of murdering Charlotte Murray Pace in her Sharlo Avenue home.

"The reality is it happens a lot in Baton Rouge, in Louisiana, you can't be that shocked either," said Evan Doremus, who heard the gun shots. "Does that make me want to live in a gated community, I mean not really, but it definitely hits home that we have things we have to deal with as a city and as a community in general."

According to city records, Harris was arrested in 2001 for possession of ecstasy. If you have information that could help, contact Baton Rouge Police.
