The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for parts of Louisiana and Mississippi valid until 9 p.m. Wednesday. This includes the parishes of Pointe Coupee and West Feliciana. In Mississippi, this includes the counties of Amite, Pike, and Wilkinson.
Some isolated storms could bring the potential for strong winds including microburts and localized pockets of wind damage. The possibility of some large hail also exists.
