The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 6 PM for the following Parishes: East Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge, Ascension, Assumption, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, East Feliciana, West Feliciana, Iberville, St. Helena and St. Mary. Also Amite and Wilkinson Counties in Mississippi.
Thunderstorms are developing all around the Metro Baton Rouge area this morning ahead of a squall line that is forming over Eastern Texas. The squall line is moving to the southeast and could produce damaging winds around 60 mph when it gets to Baton Rouge later this afternoon. Storms that are popping up around Baton Rouge have the potential to be severe with large hail and damaging winds along with heavy rain.
