The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the entire WBRZ viewing area until 2:00 PM. A watch means that severe weather is possible in the watch area.
The large area of thunderstorms that were over North Louisiana and Central Mississippi early this morning is now closing in on Baton Rouge. The storms are weaker, but they could still produce damaging winds, hail and heavy rain. The threat for severe weather will continue for the rest of the morning and into the early afternoon hours as the storms continuing moving south over South Louisiana.
