Several hurt in Kansas when school bus overturns
BONNER SPRINGS, Kan. - A school bus has overturned in northeast Kansas and some children have been injured.
The accident occurred Wednesday afternoon in Bonner Springs. A spokeswoman for Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., says the hospital was preparing to receive at least eight children.
Television images showed the bus on its side, with paramedics placing children on stretchers. Other children were walking around.
CNN reported that the Kansas Highway Patrol told them the bus had 36 girls and a driver onboard when the wreck happened. They said the bus slipped down a hill as it came around a curb and came to rest on its side.
Bonner Springs is in Wyandotte County, Kan., about 18 miles west of Kansas City, Mo.
