Series of overnight incidents keep police in Baton Rouge busy

BATON ROUGE – Investigations are underway after a number of overnight incidents in Baton Rouge.

Around 2:30 a.m., officers set up a perimeter in the Gus Young area between North St. and Odell St., in search of a possible shooting suspect. The unnamed suspect was taken into police custody just before 4 a.m. The search began after a police officer witnessed someone in a truck shooting at a car. There are no reported injuries.

An hour before that search, police responded to an accident off Airline Hwy. At Goodwood Blvd. After a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle. That accident happened after the vehicle went through a barricade at Baton Rouge Police Headquarters. The victim hit was taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries. It's unknown if anyone was arrested in the accident.

Investigators are also looking into a shooting, that injured a man. The victim was hit during a possible carjacking off McClelland Drive near Hollywood. Police have not recovered the victim's car and are looking for two suspects possibly armed.
