Sentencing today in murder-for-hire case
ADDIS - A woman convicted of hiring a hitman to kill her husband over four years ago will be sentenced today.
Monique Kitts faces life in prison. Her husband, Corey Kitts, was found shot to death in their Addis home in West Baton Rouge Parish. Prosecutors say she was after his $500,000 life insurance police.
Kitts was tried alongside the gunman, Karl Howard, who was also found guilty. The accused getaway driver, Corey Knox, testified against his partners in crime in exchange for a lesser punishment.
