A 22-year-old Slaughter man is expected to be sentenced between 15 and 40 years to jail after pleading guilty to manslaughter in the 2008 shooting death of a Zachary man outside a liquor store.
Elliott Joseph Howard was charged with second-degree murder in the slaying of Gerald Parker Senior, and is expected to be sentenced on March 16.
Authorities say Howard shot Parker in 2008, during an argument outside a liquor store near Zachary.
