A state senator from Metairie has been fined by the Louisiana Board of Ethics for failing to file accurate campaign finance reports from her last three elections.
The board approved the settlement with Republican Sen. Julie Quinn on Friday.
In the settlement, Quinn acknowledged she didn't file all the proper reports on time, but says she relied on her accountant and wasn't aware of any problems.
Quinn has paid a $5,000 fine to settle the case.
The charges involved Quinn's campaign activities during her 2002 bid for the Jefferson Parish School Board and her Senate races in 2005 and 2007.
