Senator files bill for more EBR school districts
BATON ROUGE- Mack "Bodi" White, a republican senator from Central, is reportedly pre-filing a bill to create four independent school districts in East Baton Rouge Parish.
The districts would be under an "umbrella" of schools in East Baton Rouge.
One of them would be the Southeast district that was created during last year's legislative session. The others would be in North Baton Rouge, Mid City and South Baton Rouge.
White said his goal is to give a "great deal of autonomy to the Southeast School District" and other districts, as has been demanded by those in favor for the new proposed city of St. George.
White did not discuss how this would affect the St. George effort.
