BATON ROUGE- Senator Rob Marionneaux (D-Livonia) tells News 2 it could take a few weeks to decide if he will enter the governor's race.
Marionneaux says the $9 million Gov. Bobby Jindal has in his campaign war chest is impressive but not impossible to overcome, and estimated about $4-5 million would be needed to make a run for the governor's mansion.
Marionneaux says several key topics could be important factors in an election, including transparency in the governor's office, a plan to privatize the state office of group benefits and tax reform. Marionneaux says running for governor is not fun and he would not consider doing so unless he had a shot to win.
So far the only other Democratic candidate is Tara Hollis, a teacher from Haynesville.
