Section of downtown BR street to close

Baton Rouge- An alert for drivers in downtown Baton Rouge.

The 100 block of St. Louis Street will be closed from Louisiana Avenue to North Boulevard beginning 6 a.m. Monday morning, April 30th, for infrastructure work.

Drivers will be able to access both River Center Parking Garages from the portion of St. Louis Street just north of Government Street.

Local access to St. Louis street between Louisiana Avenue and North Boulevard will be restricted to all motorist except B-1 parking tag holders, and authorized governmental vehicles. Access to the B-1 and other controlled lots shall be from St. Louis Street northbound coming from Government Street.

No access from North Boulevard to St. Louis Street will be allowed.

The 300 block of Louisiana Avenue between St. Louis and St. Ferdinand streets will be converted to a one-way street serving only eastbound traffic during this closure.

This closure is expected to last until Friday, May 4th.
