Second wreck closes Basin Bridge Thursday
HENDERSON - For the second time Thursday, I-10 through the Atchafalaya Basin closed due to a wreck involving semis.
Eastbound lanes closed near the beginning of the bridge in St. Martin Parish shortly after 7 p.m. It remained closed late into the night as crews worked to tow the two vehicles off the bridge.
KATC TV, the Lafayette-area ABC affiliate and news gathering partner with WBRZ TV and WBRZ.com reported minor injuries in the wreck. But, specific information about what caused the crash and if anyone was ticketed had not been released by the time of this post.
The crash came less than twelve hours after a wreck closed westbound lanes near the beginning of the bridge on the Baton Rouge side. The wreck Thursday morning also involved trucks. A driver was ticketed in the first wreck.
