HOOVER, Al. - LSU burst into their first game of the SEC tournament with a flurry of hits. The Tigers started the bottom half of the first inning with three hits, a walk, and some smart running on the base paths to tally three quick runs.

Starting pitcher Cody Glenn allowed only five hits with two strikeouts in seven innings pitched to keep Bama off the scoreboard.

Nick Rumbelow pitched a scoreless 8th inning in relief, and Chris Cotton pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning to seal the committee shutout.

LSU will play Arkansas Thursday 4:30pm CT. The Tigers will throw ace starter Aaron Nola against the Razorbacks.
