SEC scoreboard: Bama routs A&M, Ole Miss sets up showdown with LSU
BATON ROUGE - The top-billed game in the SEC this weekend turned out to be a dud, as Alabama beat up on Texas A&M 59-0, just one of many lopsided games in the league on Saturday.
While the Tide rolled, Ole Miss ran its perfect record to 7-0 as the Rebel Bear beat Tennessee 34-3.
The result means that LSU will host the Rebels with their highest ranking (#3) since 1963, when the Rebels came to Baton Rouge and beat LSU 37-3. In fact, the Rebels have only been ranked in this game 4 times since 1963.
Around the SEC East, South Carolina picked up a win over Furman 41-10, Georgia got off to a big lead against Arkansas and then held off a late rally to win 45-32.
Florida turned the ball over 6 times in a loss to Missouri 42-13, as the Tigers won despite just 119 yards of offense. The Gators are now 2-3 in the SEC, while Missouri improved to 2-1 in league play.
