DESTIN, FL - The powerful Southeastern Conference is now the NCAA's richest league.

Thanks to the successful debut of the SEC Network, the conference generated an NCAA-record $455.8 million in revenue in 2014-15. The league's revenue was $309.6 million last year.

The SEC will distribute $31.2 million to each of its 14 schools, a figure that does not include $19 million in bowl revenue.

Commissioner Mike Slive announced the record payout Friday, the final day of the league's spring meetings. The Big Ten held the previous record for NCAA revenue, generating $338.9 million last year.

The SEC's payout is an increase of more than $10 million from last year's league-record of $20.9 million doled out to each school.

The league also raised fines for rushing fields or courts to $50,000 for first-time offenders, then $100,000 and $250,000 for subsequent violations.
