Seattle company bringing more tech jobs to BR
BATON ROUGE - A Seattle software testing company announced plans Tuesday to relocate from Seattle to the Louisiana Technology Park in Baton Rouge.
Qalytics's move will create 34 new permanent jobs at the tech park with an average salary of $27,000. Louisiana Economic Development estimates it will also create an additional 35 indirect jobs.
The app and game testing company will work closely with Louisiana's growing digital media industry, specializing in quality assurance as well as other development and publishing services. They also plan to begin hiring quality assurance professionals for the Baton Rouge operation immediately.
Management team member Jeremy Hymel, a Baton Rouge native, said the state's tax credits will help them be competitive in North America and Europe, and that the Baton Rouge area has a "wealth of talent" they can take advantage of.
