Search suspended for man who fell into river
BOSSIER CITY - Bossier City police have suspended a search of the Red River for a man who fell into it after a two-vehicle crash that happened on the Shreveport-Barksdale Bridge.
The crash happened about 4:30 a.m. Thursday when a small pickup that was being pushed by four men and a woman was rear-ended by a full-size pickup. Police say the collision caused 23-year-old Kevin Deleon, of Bossier City, who was among those pushing the pickup, to go over the side of the bridge into the river.
Police say Deleon and the others were pushing the truck after it ran out of gas.
Authorities say the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office dive team concluded its search for Deleon with no recovery. Search efforts will resume Friday.
