BATON ROUGE - An unusual number of law enforcement took to the streets Monday morning in the Jones Creek area, looking for a suspect that was running through backyards of homes.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office had deputies stationed at entrances and streets of Woodlawn Estates. Deputies were also stationed on Jones Creek Road near the library as K9 deputies sniffed for the suspect.

The sheriff's office said deputies were searching for a burglar who broke into an apartment at the Ivy Park Apartments in the 6000 block of Jones Creek Road. The suspect jumped a fence into the backyard of a nearby home once deputies arrived.

Deputies recognized the suspect as 19-year-old Stephen Fieldings as he had been arrested previous times for residential burglaries.

According to the sheriff's office, Fieldings was apprehended after finding him hiding under the home just after 7 p.m.

Fieldings stole a Sony Playstation 3, Playstation 4, and a gold wristwatch.

Fieldings is charged with Simply Burglary of an inhabited dwelling, Simple Criminal Damage to Property and Resisting an Officer.
