Search committee picking interviewees for chancellor's job
BATON ROUGE - Southern University's search committee for a new chancellor met today to decide which of the top ten applicants given to them by a Chicago search firm will be invited to the actually visit the campus.
Chicago search firm DHR International chose the ten from 24 official applicants for the chancellor's position, which include several administrators or former college presidents as well as the former Southern dean of graduate studies and current assistant chief administrative officer to Mayor Kip Holden.
The committee spent the last week scoring the candidates in several areas before they met to decide who to bring to campus for officials interviews.
The committee will later pick their top three choices from the then and recommend that person to Southern's president, who will submit his final choice the Board of Supervisors.
