HAMMOND - Southeastern Louisiana senior left-hander Jordan Hymel now has a no-hitter to his name after blanking Texas Southern in what was also his first career complete game.

Hymel, who is from Gramercy, struck out seven, walked six and hit a batter in the Lions' 9-0 victory over the Tigers on Sunday. The victory improves Southeastern to 8-2 this season heading into its next game on Tuesday night at Mississippi.

Hymel's no-hitter is the first for Southeastern since Blaine Roseberry and John Morton combined for a seven-inning no-hitter against Louisiana College in 1979. It is the first complete-game, nine-inning no-hitter for the Lions since Kenny Lehrmann had one against Louisiana-Lafayette in 1976.

Southeastern first baseman Aaron Haag had a two-run home run among three hits and seven runs batted in.
