Scotlandville's Damian Jones selected by Warriors in the NBA Draft
SCOTLANDVILLE - With the 30th and final selection in the NBA Draft, the Golden State Warriors selected Vanderbilt center Damian Jones, who played his prep ball at Scotlandville Magnet High School.
In his junior season at Vanderbilt University, Jones averages 13.9 points and 3.9 rebounds per game and was named First Team All-SEC. He was named to that team as well as the All-Defensive Team as a sophomore. Jones scored in double-figures in 26 out of 33 games for the Commodores and registered 7 double-doubles.
As a senior at Scotlandville Magnet, Jones averaged 15.4 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks a game was a 2-time state champion and the 5A Player of the Year.
