'Scooby-Doo' crew causing trouble in abandoned hospital
BATON ROUGE - Deputies are looking for a group of people who were caught on camera milling around the inside of the shuttered Greenwell Springs Hospital at night recently.
The hospital, off Greenwell Springs Road, has been closed for about three years. Now abandoned, the building has become prime real estate for illegal adventure seekers. The most recent group was captured on cameras installed by the Central School System, which is in the process of securing the property. If identified and caught, they could face unauthorized entry charges.
"When condemned buildings have problems like that it produces crime in the area," a person who lives in the area said Thursday.
Troublemakers have torched hospital outbuildings and have vandalized the building, painting profane language and swastikas on the walls.
Anyone who recognizes any of the individuals in the attached image is urged to contact the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office at (225) 389-5000 or the Central Substation at (225) 389-5176.
