Schools in Tangipahoa Parish announce closures
HAMMOND - Several schools in Tangipahoa Parish announced they would close Wednesday due to several issues at those schools.
The following schools announced plans to cancel classes for Jan. 8:
- Loranger Elementary
- Loranger Middle
- Loranger High School
- O. W. Dillon Elementary
- Kentwood High School
A system spokesperson said the Loranger closures were due to problems with the boilers that heats the three schools, and the closures at O. W. Dillon and Kentwood were due to low water pressure in the town of Kentwood.
The parish school system asked parents to keep an eye on the system website for further updates.
