Schools growing in Livingston Parish
LIVINGSTON - Livingston Parish Superintendent John Watson visited 2une In this morning to discuss the start of the school year.
Schools there are approaching record enrollment this year. Nearly 26,000 students have enrolled so far, and Watson expects to surpass that total when all is said and done.
"The tremendous growth started about fifteen years ago and does not look like it's slowing down," he told John Pastorek. "We never really envisioned we would be as large as we are now."
To accommodate the growth, Livingston Parish has built eight new schools in the past ten year and more could be on the way.
