PORT ALLEN - The West Baton Rouge Parish School Board will take up in-depth discussion of school security in January.
The Advocate reports the goal is to improve security measures at public schools in the parish.
School security has become a hot-button issue nationwide after shootings at an elementary school in Newtown, Conn., where a 20-year-old man shot and killed 20 children and six adults before committing suicide.
