A Vandebilt Catholic High School official says Monday began with a Mass for four students who died in a pickup truck that overturned in a bayou next to La. Highway 182 near Houma.

School president David Keife says students were then given time to talk and grieve with each other about 17-year-old seniors T.J. Cantrelle, Megan Hitt and Gabrielle Hebert and 15-year-old sophomore Ian Haydel.

Louisiana State Police say Cantrelle's pickup truck wrecked as the four were returning from Saturday night's LSU football game in Baton Rouge. Friends told The Courier that one had texted a parent about 12:45 a.m. Sunday to say they were near home, and parents began looking for them about 3 a.m.

The cause of the wreck is under investigation.

Police say a cell phone GPS signal located the truck.
