CLINTON - School system leaders are determined to save an abandoned school.

Tuesday night, the school board agreed to re advertise for bids seeking a buyer for the Old Clinton High School on Plank Road. At the end of November, no bids were submitted in the first attempt to sell the building, built in 1903.

"We're hoping that we'll get a successful bidder who will obviously do some major improvements to the building so it can no longer be an eyesore for the community," Superintendent Carlos Sam said in an interview with WBRZ previously.

The East Feliciana Parish School System hopes dropping the initial asking price will make the building more appealing to a purchaser.
