School bus wreck sends 7 to hospital
SHREVEPORT - A school bus accident in Shreveport sent seven to the hospital, including five Summerfield Elementary students.
The Times reports fire and police responded the accident at 7:29 a.m. Friday on Mansfield Road involving a school bus and car.
Police say the female driver of a car traveling northbound struck the bus head-on while in the wrong lane of traffic.
Officials say the driver of the car suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to LSU Hospital.
Five children and the bus drivers suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken to Willis Knighton North and South hospitals.
Police say there were 33 students on the bus at the time of the accident.
