School bus driver delivers brawling kids to police

SHREVEPORT, LA - A dozen students in Caddo Parish students are now charged in connection with a brawl on a Shreveport school bus Monday afternoon.

The bus driver told police the fight broke out on the bus ride home from Hamilton Terrace Learning Center.

Police say the driver pulled into the Shreveport Police Department and notified police on the spot.

Police say about 10 officers boarded the bus to break up the fight.

18 year-old Melissa Winston was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on charges of simple battery and resisting arrest.

Also booked, 19-year-old Malik Speed, charged with one count of resisting an officer, and 17 year old Marquis Lindsey, charged with one count of simple battery.

Officers also arrested nine juveniles ranging in age from 14 to 16  for a variety of misdemeanor charges ranging from simple battery to interference with an officer.

All of the juveniles were issued juvenile summonses and released to guardians.

Two students were treated for minor injuries, requiring medical attention from the Shreveport Fire Department.
