School board gets wish list for athletics
GONZALES - Principals and athletics directors in Ascension Parish schools have submitted a $15 million wish list of projects to the School Board.
The Advocate reports the requests range from artificial turf for football fields to building two Olympic-size swimming pools.
The top priorities for each of the parish's high schools include:
- East Ascension: $665,000 to upgrade track facilities.
- St. Amant: $750,000 for a multipurpose building to be used as sports locker rooms.
- Donaldsonville: $1 million for expansion of its gym, including a weight room, practice facility and coach offices.
- Dutchtown: $1.5 million for an expanded weight room and a football locker room.
