Get ready for a soggy afternoon! Louisiana is sitting between to areas of high pressure. This causes a weakness to develop over us, and that leads to rain. Additionally, there is a weak area of upper-level low pressure associated with an easterly wave/tropical wave moving west across the Northern Gulf of Mexico. When you combine all of those factors with daytime heating you get scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms will have heavy rain too. High temperatures will be around 90 before the rain starts.
The showers and storms will last through the evening before tapering off by 10 PM. Then we will be left with mostly cloudy skies and low temperatures in the lower to mid 70s.
