We will have another round of scattered showers and thunderstorms this afternoon as the stationary front remains over South Louisiana. Some of the storms could become strong and have gusty winds, heavy rain, hail and frequent lightning strikes thanks to the slow-moving storms. It will be hot before the storms pop-up with highs in the lower 90s. The heat index will be around 95.
The storms will be scattered around Southeast Louisiana this evening. Some could still be strong with heavy rain, gusty winds and frequent lightning strikes. Temperatures will fall into to the 80s.
The storms will dissipate overnight. Then we will be left with mostly cloudy skies. It will be muggy with lows in the lower 70s.
