RENO, NEVADA- An obituary is supposed to celebrate a life after death but one is now an Internet sensation because of how scathing it is. The children of an abusive woman wrote it. Their horror stories about mom prompted Nevada to become one of the first states to allow children to sever ties with parents. The obit for Marianne Theresa Johnson-Reddick reads that her kids "celebrate her passing from this earth and hope she lives in the after-life reliving each gesture of violence, cruelty and shame that she delivered on her children." Katherine and Patrick Reddick are in their 50s and confirm they wrote the obituary for their mom hoping to draw attention to child abuse. Their mother was 78 and died in a nursing home in Reno.
