The Better Business Bureau of Baton Rouge is warning people that hundreds of scammers are targeting people who want to donate money to earthquake victims in Haiti.
Jim Stalls with the BBB told News 2 they are using phoney websites and toll free numbers.
"We are very generous people when it comes to disasters," Stalls said. "People need to give with their head and not their heart."
The BBB warns you to avoid giving your credit card number over the phone if a relief organization calls. Stalls says there are other red flags.
"Be concerned with organizations that promise to give 100 percent of your dollar to victims in Haiti," Stalls said. "That is just not possible."
