Santorum wins in Louisiana, some local races lead to run-off

BATON ROUGE - Santorum's 49% win in Saturday's GOP primary made news around the country.

However, there were also some closely watched local races on the ballot in some areas.

In Ascension Parish, Jessie LeBlanc won the race for 23rd Judicial District Judge. LeBlanc took down Matthew Pryor with 72% of the vote.

Baker Mayor Harlod Rideau finds himself in a runoff race with Don Kyer. Rideau came away with 46% of the vote, while Kyer had 23%.

Baker Police Chief Mike Knaps will continue in his position after being re-elected with 65% of votes.

And in Iberville Parish, the 6.22 mills SB passed with 55% of the voters' support.
