GONZALES - Flash flood warnings and high water led Ascension Parish authorities to close some roads and make sandbags available for residents Tuesday.

The sheriff's office said Donaldsonville and West Bank residents dealing with high water can pick up sandbags at the West Bank Public Works Barn located on Church Street in Donaldsonville.

A flash flood warning for the parish was extended until after 2:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Deputies closed several streets due to high water, reopening them by 5 p.m.

More information can be found on the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Facebook page.
